How can I deal with corporate constraints

Q - How can I deal with Corporate constraints when I have been used to making the decisions?

A - It can be a shock initially when you have to get decisions approved or are told how some things should be done.  The key is to work out, really quickly, your scope of decision making, so that you don’t become frustrated with “red tape”.  It takes some mental re-framing of the situation, so you can focus on the positives.  Then you can keep pushing the boundaries, so long as it is not career-threatening, so you can see when you get push-back.  On the whole, most people get over the initial shock and find they have sufficient autonomy to be able to achieve their goals.  It is often balanced out by the realisation that the business has the resources and funding you need to get things done, which can be missing in smaller organisations.
