We have too many processes


Q - We have so many ‘processes’ in our company that get in the way of getting the job done. How can we cut down without risking mistakes

A - This is a common problem these days, particularly with so many acquisitions, where there are different processes and procedures in each part of the business.  I think the key is to empower the people who use the processes to be able to challenge and refine them.  This requires a process (sorry!) to be able to capture ideas and evaluate them quickly.  Acknowledge every idea and tell people if their ideas have been accepted or not and why, so they will come back with more.  This should bring a balance of creativity and control that you are looking for.
